Liqui Moly Cera Tec vs Nano Energizer

Cera Tec and Nano Energizer are the leading products from the manufacturers Liqui Moly and Korea NanoTech Institute respectively, that are made for reducing the wear inside the engine. They enhance the wear protection by aiding the motor oils with their unique anti-wear contents. Both these additives have their distinctive methods for accomplishing this task which are extensively compared in the headings below.

Cera Tec gets its name from the ceramic particles it includes in addition to the friction modifiers. Both these components work their magic as micro ceramics works physically while friction modifiers chemically. The joint strategic action leads to reduced friction, therefore, protecting the engine and transmission.

It prevents extensive repairs and increases the life of assemblies. It has decent thermal and mechanical stability ensuring good lubrication even in extreme conditions. It saves energy and reduces fuel consumption along with stopping the harmful emissions from the exhaust.

Nano Energizer refers to nano-ceramic particles coupled with platinum as energizers, as they can save fuel and reduce sound and vibration coming from the engine. It restores engine power by improving its brake horsepower which is enhanced by reducing friction.

This additive nullifies the emissions from the exhaust by reducing the levels of carbon mono-oxide and hydrocarbons. It lubricates well in the gearbox, thus smoothening the gear changes. Similarly, it smooths the action and restores power when used in power steering. It is guaranteed to increase your engine’s life and claims zero to minimum side effects on the engine.

Compatibility

Cera Tec is completely miscible in all commercially available motor oils used in 4 strokes cars (with both petrol and diesel engines) and has the self-mixing ability. It is tested by makers to be effective when used with catalytic converters, particulate filters (both diesel and gasoline), and turbochargers.

It can also be used for lubricating transmissions, pumps, and compressors. It is preferred for the newer vehicles as it supports engines break-in and protects against excessive wear.

Nano Energizer can be used with any car, truck, or bus with diesel, petrol, and CNG engines. It is compatible with all available motor oils. It is recommended to be used in old and high mileage vehicles (have at least 25,000 miles on the clock) for effective results.

If used in newer vehicles, it will not make much difference as its engine is scarcely damaged.

It can also be used to lubricate gearbox and power steering while no claims are made to support turbochargers, particulate filters (diesel and gasoline) along with catalytic converters. However, its nanoparticles are not expected to cause any sort of problem with above mention add-ons due to their very tiny size.

Composition

Cera Tec is classified as a suspension because it is made up of microscopic boron nitride ceramics suspended in a chemical friction modifier solution. The beige coloring of the additive mixture is caused by these nanoparticles, which may be detected in the foam of hard solvents that still does not completely dissipate in the friction modifier liquid solution.

The Platinum covered with Nanoceramics (Zirconium) is a stronger solvent and has a higher wear and heat resistance than normal engine block materials. It uses the standard friction modifiers in its chemical solution. The solid platinum plus ceramic solvents and liquid friction modifiers exist bilaterally as suspension.

Nano EnergizerPlatinum, nanoceramics (Zirconium)

Working

Cera Tec uses micro-ceramic boron nitrate granules to fix minute cracks and flaws on the metallic surface elements inside the engine. Friction modifiers help by creating a second chemical layer on top of the ceramic coating, which flattens out the surface layer.

Since the surface is finer, metal-to-metal interaction is minimized, and the likelihood of resistance generation is reduced, resulting in less wear and tear within the engine.

Nano Energizer uses heat and pressure to connect to broken or damaged engine walls. Its purpose is to create an extra coating of lubricant between both the engine cylinder wall and piston for additional protection throughout the operation of the engine. They don’t resurface or recoat worn-out engine cylinders.

The studious Platinum and nano-ceramics have better performance results in comparison to its competitor.

Method of Usage

Directly inject the Cera Tec into the transmission or motor oil (cold or warm). When replacing the lubricant, put in simultaneously with fresh oil if possible. 300 mL is enough for up to 5 liters of motor oil; the recommended dose is roughly 6% of the total oil fill quantity.

For Nano Energizer, if the engine is cold, it should be warmed up for 3 to 5 minutes. Then turn the engine off. Shake the Nano-Energizer well (approximately 12 minutes) to ensure that the contents are uniformly distributed within the sachet.

Open the oil filter lid and pour the whole contents of the filter into the engine. Remove the oil filter cap and close it. Warm up the engine or drive your car for 10-20 minutes to uniformly distribute the Nano Energizer.

Time required for the additive to take effect

Cera Tec takes effect immediately as it is poured and performs restlessly up to 750 miles long distance.

However, in the case of Nano Energizer, it depends upon the type of vehicle.

  • Diesel vehicles: from 500km and fully coated at 2,000km.
  • Petrol vehicles: from 500km and fully coated at 1,500km.
  • Motorcycle (below 650cc): from 100km and fully coated at 1,000km.
  • NGV vehicles: from100km and fully coated at 1,000km

Fuel Efficiency

Cera Tec is fuel-efficient but in comparison to its counterpart, it doesn’t stand a chance. The main reason behind this is due to the higher vaporization rate of this additive, making it less effective for fuel savings.

The Platinum in Nano Energizer has been experimentally shown to boost oxidation reaction inside combustion chambers. Improved combustibility will enhance fuel economy indirectly by reducing unburned fuel waste.

Durability Comparison

The additives should only be used up to a certain mileage after which they become useless. Cera Tec is only functional for a limited timeframe and should be changed every 50,000 km, according to the manufacturing company.

To retain maximum advantages, use Nano Energizer every 30,000 km. Before replacing the engine oil, double-check that Nano Energizer has finished its coating cycle.

Cera Tec50,000
Nano Energizer30,000

Recommended Quantity

For the most practical use of their goods, additive manufacturers suggest specific quantities to mix with engine oil, similar to mileage limits.

1 liter of Cera Tec can be combined with 9 to 12 liters of motor oil to boost anti-wear efficiency.

The 1 liter of Nano Energizer, on the other hand, can support more quantity of motor oil up to 25 to 30 liters.

Using additives outside of the limitations is not preferred since a lower amount of them will not be able to maintain the same efficiency for a larger volume of motor oil.

Additives (1 Liter)The volume of Motor oil catered (liters)
Cera Tec9 to 12
Nano Energizer25 to 30

Quick Summary
